Mila Hirsch was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. As a child, she spent much of her youth pursuing art, eventually spending a summer studying at the Chicago Art Institute before being accepted into Southern Methodist University in Dallas on a Fine Arts Scholarship. While at SMU, Mila had the privilege of traveling abroad to study at The Art Institute of Florence in Italy, as well as at the New York Studio School. Mila graduated with honors and a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in academic painting, with a minor in Art History. She has continued to hone her skills as a painter and participatse in workshops from a number of Master Artists.
Today, Mila paints full time in her newly refinished studio, with a focus on back lit flowers and antique frames. She collects antique frames from all over the world, but has been lucky to find a consistent source in nearby Atlanta, GA.
Mila lives in Birmingham, AL with her husband Joe and their two kids Rex and Ida.
