"On this brilliantly bright evening in Apalachicola, Florida, the late afternoon light on an old retired oyster processing plant, tugged at my eyes and my heart. Yes, I love oysters, and I might add that I truly enjoy painting a bit of history. Age on a building (or face for that matter) intrigues me. Character. This place had it in spades. Come to think of it, that Florida Gulf Coast sunshine makes everything look beautiful. This particular painting was chosen to be in a National Juried Exhibition put on by The American Impressionist Society in 2021." - Marjorie Hicks
