Oh Buoy!
oil on canvas
20 x 20 in
"I visited the beautiful tiny island of Monhegan, Maine back in 2016 with several of my painting buddies. It was a glorious trip for us all. Many famous American landscape artists have painted in and around the island. Most notably, Winslow Homer, Robert Henri, and Edward Hopper to name a few. Many enjoy painting the crashing waves on the jagged rocks, the lobster boats in the harbor, or the towering Pines and lovely flowers. The brightly colored buoys that hang in doorways, restaurants, and lobster shacks kept grabbing my attention. Oh Buoy, do I want to go back!" - Marjorie Hicks
