THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED SUPPORT THIS SPECIAL CAUSE! FIND MORE DETAILS ON THE FUTURE OF THE PEONY PROJECT BELOW AND DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT US WITH ANY QUESTIONS!
Beverly McNeil Gallery is proud to partner with artist Amy R. Peterson and UAB’s Comprehensive Addiction in Pregnancy Program to present the Peony Project.
UAB’s CAPP is the only program of its kind in the state of Alabama with the mission to provide specialized pre and postnatal care for women struggling with substance use disorders.
The peony flower is often recognized as a symbol of compassion, honor and rebirth and each painting represents 1 of the 50 women who entered UAB CAPP in its first year as she became an expectant mother while struggling with addiction.
All 50 peonies will be on display at Beverly McNeil Gallery from May 2nd through May 31st and are offered for purchase for a limited time at $250, with 10% of the profits going to benefit the CAPP program at UAB.
Later this year, a complete set of 50 peony paintings will be installed as a tribute to CAPP at UAB's Women & Infants Center, where it can inform and inspire the public.
